What is Trusted Neighbor?
Trusted Neighbor§ is a new ADT service that lets you grant secure, temporary access to your home through the ADT+ app, providing real-time alerts, video clips and a full history view. It helps give you peace of mind and is the latest example of our commitment to empowering you to protect and connect what matters most.
How does Trusted Neighbor work?
When a neighbor or trusted person approaches the front door, ADT checks against the permissions the homeowner set to unlock a smart lock and disarm the ADT security system seamlessly. The verified individual is granted access to the ADT customer's home to take care of whatever is needed, securely and safely.§
What do I need to get started?
To enable Trusted Neighbor§ you will need a Yale Smart Door Lock, Google Nest Doorbell, the latest ADT Base and a subscription to Complete Monitoring.
What is the difference between timed access and event access?
You control who has access to your home, when and for what, all through the ADT+ app.
With timed access, you enjoy the convenience of setting times when someone can enter your home. Perfect for visiting guests, home maintenance workers, or dog walkers.
With event access, neighbors are alerted to the events you choose and granted temporary access to your home to take care of the issue. Perfect in situations where you’re away from home and you want your neighbors to bring in a package or turn off the water if a water leak is detected.
Is my door compatible with the Yale Smart Lock?
