How My Safety works

Unlike phone-based emergency alerts or standalone safety apps, My Safety combines proactive monitoring and multiple discreet SOS options, all backed by ADT’s professional monitoring team and seamlessly integrated into the broader ADT+ home security experience.

Discreetly initiate a phone call or SMS to an ADT agent when feeling unsafe. ADT’s 24/7 monitoring team will contact emergency services on your behalf.

Enables proactive monitoring when users may feel vulnerable, with emergency services dispatched if check-ins are missed. Using the Safety Timer, an ADT agent can track your location during a set time interval.

A proactive safety feature that activates an SOS alert to ADT. Speak a “secret phrase” and ADT’s 24/7 monitoring team will contact emergency services on your behalf.

What is My Safety?

My Safety is a new service included in ADT+ for Residential Pro Monitoring subscribers that brings peace of mind when on-the-go. It is monitored 24/7 by our agents and free to ADT+ users who have a Pro Monitoring plan. It consists of four features:

  • Emergency call or text: Discreetly initiate a phone call or SMS to an ADT agent when feeling unsafe. ADT’s 24/7 monitoring team will contact emergency services on your behalf.
  • Safety Timer: Enables proactive monitoring when users may feel vulnerable, with emergency services dispatched if check-ins are missed. Using the Safety Timer, an ADT agent can track your location during a set time interval.
  • Emergency Phrase: A proactive safety feature that activates an SOS alert to ADT. Speak a “secret phrase” and ADT’s 24/7 monitoring team will contact emergency services on your behalf.

 

Who is eligible for My Safety?

All ADT new and existing customers with the v5 ADT Base and ADT Professional Monitoring are eligible to use My Safety when they update the ADT+ app. ADT+ app users must be 18 years and older.

How will I get the update that includes My Safety? Will I have to update the ADT+ app?

If you are on auto update, you will have the latest ADT+ app update featuring My Safety. If you have not opted for auto update, you will need to manually update the ADT+ app.

Will calls or alerts initiated through My Safety show up in my phone’s call history or within the app?

No, there is no call history in My Safety.

If there are multiple users on my account, who will have access to My Safety?

All family members on your account can access My Safety. However, only the individual user that initiates a My Safety activity, such as an emergency call or text, safety timer, or emergency phrase will have visibility to the status/activity, alerts, and notifications.
