Winter is here, but you can still bring some tropical cheer to your household! Are you looking for an easy treat to enjoy while Safe at Home? Snowman fruit kabobs are a healthy snack that will have everyone begging for seconds. While this year has been busy, we love finding quick and delicious ways to bring light into your day. @bubbyandbean’s combination of fruit, vegetables, and the addition of chocolate or raisins will add a sweet moment to your day. 

Along with the ingredients listed below, there are many ways to swap around to meet dietary needs or personal preferences. Swap strawberries for kiwi or apples for oranges. Want to make a roasted potato version? Go for it! There are so many fun fruits and veggies to make this recipe your own.

You can also customize the face of your snowman! Make a laughing snowman, a singing snowman, or even a winking snowman- The opportunities are endless for making your perfect snack!

Try Melissa's Safe at Home Snowman Fruit Kabobs

Ingredients (makes 2)

  • 1 banana, peeled

  • 1 strawberry

  • 1 green apple

  • 1 baby carrot

  • 4 pretzel sticks

  • 10 mini chocolate chips or raisins

  • 2 wooden skewers

 

⁣Instructions

  1. Cut the banana into 6 thick slices (3 for each snowman).

  2. Cut triangle shapes (1 from strawberry and 1 from green apple) for hats, 2 slivers from baby carrot for noses, and peel slices of green apple for scarves.

  3. Slide 3 banana slices onto each skewer. Top one with the strawberry triangle and the other with the apple triangle. ⁣

  4. Insert pretzel sticks for arms, carrot slices for noses, and mini chocolate chips or raisins for eyes and buttons.
