“It’ll be five years this month since we started service with ADT. We purchased a new house then and the house was totally wired for security. I was familiar with ADT in terms of their performance and their reliability. So, we had an opportunity to have ADT come out and set up our security system. And we did. And we’ve been with them ever since. Their installers really didn’t have to do much since the house was totally already wired, all the windows, the doors etc. All they had to do was put in the box and wire into it and set up the various zones. So, the installation went smoothly. There was a time I called their customer service but it had more to do with pricing issues in terms of Comcast contacting me to get their security system at a fairly reduced price compared to what ADT was charging me. And ADT agreed to match it for two years. Our experience with ADT has all been good.”

“All of my outside doors and the garage door are hardwired by ADT. I also have digital mounted monitors both in the basement and on the first level that detects any motion if anybody breaks the window and gets in. I occasionally set my alarm off by mistake, but they’re always quick to call and check to make sure that there isn’t anything going on. Once or twice they’ve detected some motion in the basement, and usually it’s been a bug or something that is crawling over the camera. They also always want me to check to make sure that there isn’t anybody who had gotten in. The people who call are very respectful, too. I’m very satisfied with ADT. They have very reliable service.”

Aurora, CO Service Area & Local Process
The ADT Aurora branch provides professional installation of the ADT Smart Home System throughout the Denver metro area and surrounding communities, including Centennial, Parker, Commerce City, Greenwood Village, east Denver, and extending north along Colorado's Front Range to Longmont, Loveland, and Fort Collins. Installation times depend on the home, system configuration, equipment selected, and installation conditions.
Aurora sits in "Hail Alley," where severe summer thunderstorms bring damaging hail, high winds, and the occasional tornado on the eastern plains, followed by cold, snowy winters, with grassland fire a risk during dry, windy stretches. Temperature sensors and smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are practical additions for Aurora homes, where winter pipe-freeze risk and storm-related damage are seasonal considerations. The ADT Smart Home System includes backup battery power to help keep the system powered during a power outage. If internet service is disrupted, cellular backup may help keep the system connected to ADT monitoring, as long as you have an active ADT monitoring plan and cellular service is available.
Aurora, CO Local Regulations & Requirements
The City of Aurora does not require a permit to operate a residential or business alarm system. Instead, the Aurora Police Department states that officers are dispatched to an alarm when two separate zones are activated or when someone is on scene requesting a response, while duress and panic alarms always receive a response (City of Aurora). This makes alarm verification especially valuable in Aurora, since a verified alarm helps ensure a timely police response.
Homeowners in Aurora condominiums and rentals should verify installation permissions with their property management or HOA before scheduling professional installation.

No. The City of Aurora does not require a permit to operate a residential alarm system (City of Aurora). Your ADT professional installation technician can explain how alarm verification works during your consultation.
How does Aurora's verified-response policy work?
The Aurora Police Department will not dispatch officers out to alarms with only one zone/activation with the exception of business between 11pm and 5am. This makes verification valuable. With alarm verification through Alarm Messenger™, ADT has seen over a 50% reduction in false alarm dispatches at sites enrolled in Alarm Messenger™ compared to sites not enrolled in Alarm Messenger™. Based on internal ADT data collected over the lifetime of Alarm Messenger™ (2021-current).
