At ADT, we are
focused on our customers, team members, and the communities where we live and
work. This commitment to, and involvement in, our communities is not only the
right thing to do; it makes us stronger as a team and more proud to work at
In 2013, ADT
launched ADT Always Cares, a company-wide community service program
comprised of both employee volunteerism and employee-directed philanthropy. We
chose the Always Cares name to leverage the strength of ADT’s widely recognized
tagline, Always There, but most importantly to show our neighbors that we care.
About ADT Always Cares
Cares program offers a wide spectrum of company-sponsored volunteer events in
ADT’s key markets throughout the year, making it easy for team members and
their families to roll up their sleeves in support of local causes. Team
members are empowered to be a positive force in their community through
volunteer and philanthropic initiatives, primarily impacting two areas: our
local heroes and vulnerable populations in their communities.
local heroes through partnerships with First Responder agencies and nonprofits.
ADT believes in supporting First Responders – police, firefighters and
paramedics – who put themselves in harm’s way to keep our communities safe.
Through our lifesaver program, we recognize First Responders who help save our
customers’ homes by awarding monetary grants to their departments.
We help people in need by supporting human services and health-focused charities. ADT employees help their neighbors through hands-on initiatives like providing meals to less fortunate families at local food banks; building homes with Habitat for Humanity; assisting at-risk youth through mentoring and after-school programs; and so much more.
beginning in 2013, ADT Always Cares has had the honor of partnering with
hundreds of local nonprofit organizations in over 200 communities where ADT
team members live and work. These organizations range in size – from local, to
regional and even international – but all share a deep commitment to helping
people in need and making our communities stronger. While these relationships
are year-round, they come to life in a special way during ADT’s Annual Week of
Service, when all 225 offices across the U.S. and Canada support these charitable
partners at hundreds of volunteer events.
Here are just a
few ADT partners, based in our headquarters community of South Florida, where
our employees volunteered their time during ADT’s 2016 Week of Service.
Humanity is one of ADT’s most beloved charitable partners. Over the years,
hundreds of ADT employees have served over 10,000 hours helping to build homes.
The partnership has built on a special initiative ADT created with Habitat for
Humanity Palm Beach County, called the ADT Habitat Challenge. The Habitat
Challenge is a competitive, team building experience, engaging ADT employees to
help build a new home for a deserving local family. This event pits different
departments, as well as neighboring offices, against each other to compete for
a fun award and bragging rights.

Hands (BHH) provides food and emergency assistance to individuals, families,
and children to meet basic human needs and long-term solutions to break the
cycle of dependence. As a shining star in ADT’s home community, BHH has helped
ADT volunteers learn about the needs that exist right in our own backyard, and has
instilled the importance of taking an active role in meeting these needs.
During ADT’s 2016 Annual Week of Service, our volunteers prepared meals and
filled grocery bags, to spread joy and provide practical help to our neighbors.

The Arc of Palm
Beach County provides quality services, education and advocacy for children and
adults with developmental disabilities and their families. Some of the most
touching moments since launching ADT Always Cares have been the opportunities
for ADT employees to serve at Arc assisted living homes, host celebrations for
their adult clients, and actually volunteer alongside Arc clients at ADT
facilities. During the 2016 Annual Week of Service, ADT converted its’s West
Palm Beach office into a disco dance party, and invited dozens of clients for a
day of eating, dancing and games that they will never forget!

The mission of
Grandma’s Place is to provide shelter and loving care to children who have
suffered abuse or neglect and have been removed from their own homes by the
State of Florida. A child’s stay at Grandma’s Place is intended to be temporary
until a permanent or more appropriate placement is found. A highly anticipated
event for ADT employees is the annual field trip volunteers orchestrate for the
children staying at Grandma’s Place. During the 2016 Annual Week of Service,
ADT hosted an educational field trip to Lion Country Safari for the children as
they learned about nature, met and fed the animals, and ended the day with
splash at the waterslides!
As ADT’s home
state is Florida, the company is partnered with Volunteer Florida, the lead
agency for volunteerism and national service in the Sunshine State, along with the
Office of Governor Rick Scott, to host a #BringABook service project in 2016. ADT
employees helped collect books at 18 ADT locations to give to elementary school
and pre-kindergarten students in need to address the summer learning loss
epidemic. “Volunteer Florida is proud to work with ADT to engage the company’s
Florida employees in service across the state,” said Chester W. Spellman, CEO of
Volunteer Florida. “ADT is an excellent corporate partner and we are excited to
collaborate and expand Volunteer Florida’s signature #BringABook project

Each May, ADT
celebrates its companywide Annual Week of Service, where employees and family
members from all 225 offices across the U.S. and Canada join together to give
back to our communities. From Alaska to Puerto Rico and from Hawaii to
Newfoundland, over 5,000 ADT volunteers are out in force rolling up their
sleeves to paint, plant and perform thousands of tasks to help address critical
local needs. In 2016, ADT volunteers served 24,792 hours at 250 events, donated
ten thousand children’s books to local literacy organizations, all touching the
lives of thousands of our neighbors in need.
