ADT is focused on our customers, team members, and the communities where we live and work. This commitment to and involvement in our local communities is not only the right thing to do; it makes us stronger as a team and more proud to work for ADT.
In 2013, ADT launched ADT Always Cares, our company-wide community service program comprised of both employee volunteerism and employee-directed philanthropy. We chose the Always Cares name to leverage the strength of our widely recognized tagline, Always There, and to show our neighbors that we care.
About ADT Always Cares
The Always Cares program offers a wide spectrum of company-sponsored volunteer events in ADT’s key markets throughout the course of the year, making it easy for our team members and their families to roll up their sleeves in support of local causes. Team members are empowered to be a positive force in their community through volunteer and philanthropic initiatives, primarily impacting two areas of focus:
Supporting our local heroes through partnership with first responder agencies and nonprofits. ADT believes in supporting our local heroes – police, firefighters and paramedics – who put themselves in harm’s way to keep our communities safe. We’re developing our programs to show our appreciation for first responders, beginning with Always Cares volunteer support.
Protecting vulnerable populations by supporting human services and health-focused charities. ADT employees help their neighbors through hands-on initiatives like providing meals to less fortunate families at local food banks; building homes with Habitat for Humanity; assisting at-risk youth through mentoring and after-school programs; and so much more.
Since our program’s inception in 2013, ADT Always Cares has had the honor of partnering with hundreds of local nonprofit organizations in our over 200 communities where ADT team members live and work. These organizations range in size – from local, to regional and even international – but all share a deep commitment to helping people in need and making our communities stronger. While these relationships are year-round, they come to life in a special way during ADT’s Annual Week of Service, when all 225 offices across the U.S. and Canada support these charitable partners at hundreds of volunteer events.
Here are just a few special ADT partners, based in out headquarters community of South Florida, where we’ll be volunteering at this year’s Week of Service, April 30-May 7th 2016.
In three years since launching the Always Cares program, Habitat for Humanity has emerged as one of ADT’s most beloved charitable partners. In that time, hundreds of ADT employees have served over 7,000 hours helping to build 10 homes. To take this relationship to the next level, ADT is kicking off its Annual Week of Service by launching a new partnership with Habitat for Humanity International. Through a $100,000 contribution, the partnership will build on a special initiative ADT created with Habitat for Humanity Palm Beach County, called the ADT Habitat Challenge. The Challenge will be extended to now bring together ADT employees to help build homes in Denver, Jacksonville, Fla. and Toronto.
“We are delighted to have ADT join us in our mission to help more families find a decent place to live,” said Larry Gluth, Senior Vice President of U.S. and Canada for Habitat for Humanity International. “The partnership offers an exciting experience that will give homeowners the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better futures for themselves and their families.”

Boca Helping Hands (BHH) provides food and emergency assistance to individuals, families, and children to meet basic human needs and long-term solutions to break the cycle of dependence. As a shining star of our home community of Boca Raton, Florida, BHH has helped ADT volunteers learn about the needs that exist right in our own backyard, and instilled the importance of taking an active role in meeting these needs. During our 2016 Annual Week of Service, ADT volunteers will prepare lunch for families and children who are in need of our support. Our volunteers will be preparing meals and filling grocery bags, to spread joy and provide practical help to our neighbors.

The Arc of Palm Beach County provides quality services, education and advocacy for children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families. Some of the most touching moments since launching ADT Always Cares have been the opportunities for our employees to serve at Arc assisted living homes, host elaborate celebrations for their adult clients, and actually volunteer alongside Arc clients at ADT facilities. During our 2016 Annual Week of Service, we’ll be converting ADT’s West Palm Beach sales office into a disco dance party, and inviting over dozens of the clients for a day of eating, dancing and games they won’t soon forget!

The mission of Grandma’s Place is to provide shelter and loving care to children who have suffered abuse or neglect and have been removed from their own homes by the State of Florida. A child’s stay at Grandma’s Place is intended to be temporary until a permanent or more appropriate placement is found. One of the most anticipated events for ADT employees are the field trip days our volunteers orchestrate for the children staying at Grandma’s Place. During our 2016 Annual Week of Service, ADT will host an educational field trip to Lion Country Safari for the children as they learn about nature, meet and feed the animals and end the day with splash at the waterslides!
In Florida, ADT’s home state, the company is working with Volunteer Florida, the lead agency for volunteerism and national service in the Sunshine State, and the Office of Governor Rick Scott, to host a #BringABook service project. Throughout the month of April, ADT employees are helping to collect books at 18 ADT locations to give to elementary school and pre-kindergarten students in need to address the summer learning loss epidemic.
“Volunteer Florida is proud to work with ADT to engage the company’s Florida employees in service across the state,” said Chester W. Spellman, CEO of Volunteer Florida. “ADT is an excellent corporate partner and we are excited to collaborate and expand Volunteer Florida’s signature #BringABook project statewide.”

ADT is partnered with VolunteerMatch, the web’s largest volunteer engagement network, to power the Always Cares website. This new site connects our employees with charities and service projects in their communities, both company events and others they’re passionate about. Employees can easily search and sign-up for opportunities and alerts, and track their service projects and hours, allowing ADT to measure the collective impact of our people.
During the first week of May each year, ADT celebrates its companywide Annual Week of Service, where employees and family members from all 225 offices across the U.S. and Canada join together to give back to our communities. From Alaska to Puerto Rico and from Hawaii to Newfoundland, over 5,000 ADT volunteers are out in force rolling up their sleeves to paint, plant and perform thousands of tasks to help address critical local needs. This year, in 2016, ADT volunteers are expected to serve nearly 20,000 hours at 250 events, donate tens of thousands of children’s books to local literacy organizations, all touching the lives of thousands of our neighbors in need.
The program is led by an Always Cares Committee in each local market, comprised of employees selected through a competitive application process to serve a two-year term. Committee members are provided robust training in managing nonprofit sector partnerships and leading volunteer initiatives, seeding a life-long passion to serve their community
