What is the ADT+ app?
The ADT+ app helps bring together the security of ADT and the convenience of a smart home into one app. It allows you to access your ADT smart home security system and other compatible smart devices all in one place with just a tap of your finger. Notifications, remote control, video streaming, and video recording require working internet, and Wi-Fi.
Do I need a system to use the ADT+ app?
Yes, the ADT+ app is intended to work with an ADT smart home security system. For ADT Blu, a preconfigured kit or standalone cameras are both considered a system. To use the app, you’ll need a smartphone or tablet and a secure Wi-Fi network.
Is the ADT+ app free to download?
Yes, the ADT+ app is free to download through the iOS App Store or the Google Play Store. You can install it on your iOS or Android smartphone or tablet, then log in to your existing account or create an account.
What can I do with the ADT+ app?
The ADT+ app allows you to manage your ADT security and compatible smart home devices from virtually anywhere. You can arm and disarm your system and check its status, receive intelligent notifications when important activity is detected on your cameras, access 24/7 live view and 2-way audio on your cameras and doorbell, view event video history, create rules and automation for your ADT devices, and customize system notifications so you only receive the events most important to you. You can also take immediate action after receiving a notification, such as greeting visitors, arming or disarming your system, or unlocking your door.
Does the app support smart home devices?
Yes, the ADT+ app lets you access your ADT smart home security system, cameras, and other compatible smart devices all in one place. You can create rules and automation for your ADT devices, and view live video from your cameras.
Can I view live camera footage in the app?
Yes, you can view live video from your cameras through the ADT+ app.
The ADT+ “History” feed shows system activity (arming/disarming, doors/windows, motion, alerts, and other events). Events are stored for 90 days in the ADT+ app and for 30 days in the plus.adt.com web portal.
What happens if an alarm is triggered?
If a sensor or detector is triggered, the Base and other paired devices (such as the Indoor Siren and other ADT detectors) will also sound. You receive a notification from the ADT+ app. If you have Pro-Protect with ADT 24/7 professional monitoring, the ADT Monitoring Center will be notified of the alarm.
How do I set up the ADT+ app?
Download the free ADT+ app through the iOS App Store or the Google Play Store and install it on your iOS or Android smartphone or tablet. Log in to your existing account or create an account if you need to.
Can multiple users access the same account?
Yes. The ADT+ app supports multiple unique users, each with their own security code and assigned role. This lets you track who arms and disarms your system and manage who has access to settings and devices. You can manage user roles and security codes in the ADT+ app or by visiting your account at plus.adt.com. Only Primary and Admin user roles can invite, add, and remove users from the system.
What happens if my Wi-Fi or power goes down?
Notifications, remote control, video streaming, and video recording require working internet and Wi-Fi, so these features may be unavailable through the app during an outage.
The Base includes a backup battery, so your system can continue to operate for a period of time during a power outage. Professional monitoring communications may still be disrupted if your router and internet communications do not also have battery backup, or if the system’s communication path is impaired.
