The Benefits of SAFETY Act

Passed by Congress as part of the Homeland Security Act, the SAFETY Act (Support Anti-Terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies) provides incentives for the development and deployment of anti-terrorism technologies for homeland security. The SAFETY Act helps to ensure that the threat of liability does not deter the development of technologies that could significantly reduce the risks and effects of a terrorist act.

The designation as QATT and the certification as an Approved Product of Homeland Security, means that ADT's Electronic Security Services, receives liability protection in the event of a terrorist act. Furthermore, when deploying our anti-terrorism technologies, ADT and our customers receive significant tort liability protection against claims that our Electronic Security Services failed to prevent a certified "Act of Terrorism", as defined by the SAFETY Act.
