Absolutely, customization is in the name. This kit comes with the minimal required base components, giving you the flexibility to customize your home security kit as you see fit. Upgrade your kit with additional sensors, cameras, life safety detectors, or smart home accessories to suit your specific requirements during or after kit purchase.
How many sensors do I need for my home size?
There’s not an absolute number, but general guidance is:
- All ground-floor doors & windows should have a sensor.
- Consider second floor depending on risk.
- Add motion sensors for large interior areas.
What happens to my ADT Blu security system if my Wi-Fi or power goes down?
ADT Blu systems come with 24-hour battery backup in case of a power outage. With the Pro-Protect professional monitoring plan, protection can be maintained if Wi‑Fi disconnects by using cellular backup.
Is my data secure and encrypted?
ADT uses secure connections through the ADT+ platform for security and reliability. With ADT, your live video stays private. We only receive clips during an active alarm when you opt in — all to help get you a priority response.
During an alarm event, we use ADT Data Lockbox to safely store your alarm event data collected by ADT.* Access is tracked and limited to authorized and authenticated people you choose. In video verification scenarios, the video clip is stored in a secure location where only the site owner may access it in the future.
