How do I install it?
Installing the Motion Sensor couldn't be easier. You can choose between using the provided adhesive or screws for mounting the sensor.
Where should I place the Motion Sensor for optimal coverage?
This Motion Sensor is built for indoor use. We recommend placing motion sensors in high traffic areas such as entrances, hallways, living rooms, and staircases where an unwanted intruder may pass through. Mount your sensors 6.5 feet from the floor and in the corner of the room facing the monitored area. Avoid direct sunlight, heating vents, and ceiling fans for best performance.
Does the Motion Sensor integrate with other smart home devices?
Yes, the Motion Sensor seamlessly integrates with your ADT+ app and smart home security system devices, which includes the Base and optional smart home accessories. The Motion Sensor works seamlessly with other smart home security system devices and can serve as a trigger for convenient smart home automations, like turning the lights on when you enter a room.
Can I monitor it remotely when I’m not home?
Yes, you can remotely access and control the Motion Sensor using the ADT+ app on your smartphone or tablet virtually wherever you have an internet connection. Get notified when a sensor is triggered, your system is armed, or battery is low.
What automations does it support?

Is it resistant to tampering?
Yes, the Motion Sensor includes tamper protection. If the sensor's cover is removed or tampered with, it triggers a tamper alert, and you will be notified via the ADT+ app. This feature helps ensure the sensor remains secure and operational.
What happens if my Wi-Fi or power goes down?
The Motion Sensor will continue to work if your Wi-Fi goes down. The sensor uses a dedicated wireless connection to communicate with your Base, not your home Wi-Fi network. As long as your system remains powered, either through your main power supply or backup battery, it can still detect motion and send alerts.
If the power goes out, the Motion Sensor will continue to operate normally since it runs on battery power and doesn’t rely on your home’s electrical system. Additionally, your Base is equipped with a 24-hour backup battery, allowing the system to stay connected and alert you to any motion detection or security events during an outage. This helps to ensure continuous performance even when the lights are off.
