What is this product?
The Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) is Google's smartest, most advanced thermostat. It learns the temperatures you like, when you like them, even as your routine changes. It gets to know how outdoor temps naturally heat and cool your home to save energy. It helps make sure your heating and cooling systems run smoothly. It comes bundled with a Nest Temperature Sensor (2nd gen) to manage hot and cold spots in your home.
What are the key features?
Key features include:
- Improved compatibility with most 24V systems (gas, electric, oil, forced air, heat pump, radiant) with no C wire required in most homes
- Smart Schedule that learns the temps you like and suggests tweaks to help you save
- A 60% larger display (compared to 3rd gen) with Dynamic Farsight so you can see info from across the room
- Virtual control via the ADT+ app from virtually anywhere
The included Nest Temperature Sensor (2nd gen) to manage room temperatures - Savings of an average of 12% on heating bills and 15% on cooling bills (estimated, individual savings vary)
- HVAC air filter change reminders based on actual use and seasonal maintenance reminders
- Smart ventilation that brings in fresh air when outdoor air quality is healthy (requires compatible HVAC ventilation system)
How do I install it?
For information on how to install the Nest Learning Thermostat, visit our support article. No C wire is required in most homes.
What happens if my Wi-Fi or power goes down?
When the thermostat is offline, you can still control your system with the thermostat, but not through the Google Home app. Remote access via the Google Home app requires working internet and Wi-Fi. If your home or HVAC system loses power, heating/cooling operation may be interrupted until power is restored.
