In-Building Wireless Communication Systems for Emergency Responders

Emergency Communication Requirements

ERCES are required by International Building Code (IBC), International Fire Code (IFC), and are specified in NFPA codes. Buildings are required to meet these radio signal coverage standards, allowing clear communication between first responders and their respective radio system. Buildings with zero or poor public safety radio signals should have a signal boosting system installed, such as a BDA or DAS.
