FADE Home Give our heroes a hand "Helping our Heroes" checklist		GETTING STARTED I have been trained in system operation. I have been given a summary operating sheet. I have been given a system operating manual. I have been given the option of a familiarization/no dispatch period. I have been given information about any local ordinances that may govern the operation of my system and I will keep current any applicable permits, fees, etc. I will make a list of everyone who is going to use my security system, make sure they are properly trained, and see to it that they know the security passcode and cancellation codes. I understand it is my responsibility to prevent false alarms. I understand it is critical to make certain that all users of the system (such as residents, employees, guests, cleaning people, and repair people) are trained on the proper use of the system. EVERYDAY OPERATION ADT has given me literature describing routine false alarm prevention techniques. I have reviewed the delay time on designated entry/exit doors and acknowledge that this will provide sufficient time to get in and out of the premises. My entry time is ______. My exit time is______. I know how to turn off motion detectors while leaving other sensors on. ROUTINE MAINTENANCE I know how to test the system, including the communication link with the ADT monitoring center. I know where the main control panel, battery, and transformer are located. IN CASE OF A FALSE ALARM I know how to cancel an accidental alarm activation and know the cancellation code. I have received literature describing how ADT will communicate with me in the event of various alarm signals. I understand if a false alarm is triggered I can call 1-800-ADT-ASAP and follow the prompts. SITUATIONS THAT MAY CAUSE ALARMS I will advise ADT before I do any interior or exterior remodeling (such as moving walls, doors, or windows). I understand that certain building defects (such as loose fitting doors or windows, rodents, inadequate power, and roof leaks) can cause false alarms. I will correct these defects as I become aware of them. I understand that indoor pets and/or guard dogs can cause false alarms, and I will contact ADT to adjust the system as necessary. Human error is responsible for nearly 80% of false alarms. With education and up-to-date contact information on file, this number can be significantly reduced.
